How to Rent a Place in Goa

Has anyone ever rented an apartment for a short stay in Goa. Its easy to procure a place but making sure thats its partly furnished or even better that its fully furnished is the real challenge!
This is practically the first time that I attempted to stay on in Goa for a 'longer than 5 days'. Scouted through local newspapers, browsed through quikr.com and olx.in and even posted my requirement for a flat near Panjim to hunt out a decent place.
One evening through our drive to Hawaii beach (yes there exists one near Dona Paula!), managed to visit a bungalow there available to rent. Infact, we realised that quite a few of the hotel management students visit the area for long term rentals whilst interning at Hotel Cidade de Goa. Preferring to stay closer to Dona Paula and Caranzalem, the area seemed to work in proximity. However, the apartment seemed claustrophobic and no one was in favour of 8-10 boys situated on the higher floors in a 3 bed apartment. But it did seem like our only worthwhile option. We continued to make calls as the days went by and just as we checked out of the Carlson Country suites at North Goa, we got a call from a Broker agent near Panjim to come across and take a look at his sisters vacant semi furnished apartment.
The apartment was located on the 3rd floor of a small but well maintained building near Caranzalem and we found the convenience to Dona Paula through a back road ever so inviting ! There was not much to boast of inside the apartment but enough to get by. Open styled but bare Kitchen, 2 spacious rooms with a bed set and Sofas in the Hall made the stay almost pleasant.
The air-conditioning was not working the entire day due to frequent power cuts and load shedding so the fact that a smaller building does not have a reliable working generator is really a huge downside in Goa ! The other downside to watch out is the wek wifi which then drove us to all sorts of small bars and cafes in Panjim where free wifi was advertised. We sat in for hours just to keep ourselves entertained when we werent taking lng walks at Caranzalem Beach Park. Yes there is a beautiful Park located t the far of Panjimm at Caranzalem just beofre the start of Donna Paula and it was simply stunning !  Loads of walkers, runners and dogs that fill this place up but it is worth a visit even when the weather is too hot and humid to step out but thats what makes this part of Goa worth a visit with families.
There are plenty of grocery shops on the main road and access to Panjim from the inner roads make Taleigaon strategically well located. Large open fields everywhere and far from the main roads make North Goa all so scenic and peaceful. Goa rentals are affordable and most residential complexes have supermarkets and club houses to throw in the added comfort. So pick one that fits your budget and let Goa spoil you !
